Will PC world/Currys fix my laptop?

I bought an Advent laptop from the store in January. Recently it has been running slow and yesterday it finally packed up. It won't even start (not even in safe mode). We took good care of the laptop and the virus protection we had said it was clean. What are the chances of PCworld/currys fixing it? Are they obliged to do so?
