Is it true that the location of proteins can be controlled through covalent modifications?

it will be determined by post translational modification.....in endoplasmic reticulum after the protein translated post translation modification will takes place which are O linked glycosylation or N linked glysosylation... in which the carbohydrate molecules will be added in Asn residues in N linked glycosylation and in Ser in O linked glycosylation. these carbohydrate consist of Mannose, glucose, acetyl glucosamine... this will be act as a signal in the golgi bodies to sort out into secretory or transmemebrane protein or any other.... these sorting will takes place in sorting vesicles of golgi apparatus. An example of that is dolical phosphate pathway....
