My grandpa had lung cancer, .....can i get it?

after my grandpa ped from lung cancer a few years ago, i read that it was hereditary. if my dad gets it, can i,do i have a risk? like if my grandpa got it, and ped it to my dad and he gets it, then ped it to me... please help! (:
