Can,t run chdsk/f even on reboot?

have tried all the other ways and tricks they don,t work.i uninstalled vista transformation pack,and hard drive is real slow.can,t defrag either.i have no splash screen that used to say xp then vista(vtp)now nothing will work on bootup.windows runs (xp).booting is the slowest part.also have problem with Ricoh sd/mmc host controller,it wont load driver properly.is there a free program that will act as chkdsk/f?and is there a really good trial period(or free)antivirus scanner and remover? I have avg,spyware terminator,and some others that i believe are missing the virus.i had to remove norton,s symantec for technical problems.any suggestions are better then none ,ty!
